If the project of Russian gas pipeline “Nord stream-2” fail, Russia will be forced to negotiate with Ukraine on a new gas contract for the transit of gas to Europe. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena serkal, reports UNIAN.

“Nord Stream-2 – think he will not exist in these terms, which draws Russia itself. Whether it will do, I can’t say,” – said zerkal.

According to the representative of the foreign Ministry, the EU can create a level playing field for all countries on the purchase and transit of gas, and will be able to buy gas from “Gazprom” on the Ukrainian Eastern border and themselves to deliver gas through Ukraine.

Zerkal noted that the Stockholm arbitration has not resolved the issue of the transfer of checkpoints on the Eastern border to the place of occurrence of the Russian gas in the Ukrainian gas transportation system. The court determined that as a matter of internal regulation.

Nord stream-2 involves the construction of two pipelines to bypass Ukraine with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of the Russian Federation through the Baltic sea to Germany. Nord Stream AG 2, dealing with construction planning, belongs to the Russian Gazprom for 100%. Half the cost of the pipeline (10 billion euros) is to Finance five European oil and gas companies – Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall.
