The fire killed two children
The Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov has declared mourning in the region due to the deaths of two children during a fire in the children’s improving complex “Victoria”.
In the municipal children’s sports complex “Victoria” in Odessa burned two-storey wooden building. At that point, there were more than 40 children.
As reports regional management of Public service on emergency situations in the result of fire two children were killed and two were injured, they were hospitalized. The search continues for another missing girl.
According to SSES, the fire covered more than five hundred square meters, the fire spread in the wind on flammable wooden structures and create a fire hazard to neighboring residential buildings.
As reported by “the Crimea. Realities”, a witness of the incident – the inhabitant of Odessa Andrey tantsyura, who was at the scene and conducted live video stream on the page in Facebook., reports that no fire hydrant in the children’s complex, no hydrants nearby on the street, no water pressure, so employees SSES involved in the fire, had to carry water a kilometer away from the scene.
The municipal children’s recreation complex “Victoria” is open during the whole year. There were children from needy, large families, families of immigrants and “Chernobyl”, the children of servicemen in the ATO zone, as well as pupils of children’s creative collectives of educational institutions of the city.
