Legendary canadian hockey player Wayne Gretzky expressed confidence that the season of the National hockey League (NHL) will be played in the summer.
“I believe that the leadership of the United States and Canada will find a way to overcome this situation, we’ll figure it out. And I do believe that we will see hockey and other sports in the summer, albeit in slightly different form, but it will happen”, — quotes the words of Gretzky Sportsnet.
The NHL, like all other sports leagues in North America, has suspended the conducting of competitions in connection with the pandemic of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
Previously, forward of the Washington capitals Ilya Kovalchuk expressed hope that the NHL will be able to finish the season and start the playoffs.
