In Kharkiv marked the end of a chess tournament between Kiev and local athletes. The team victory was won by the guests. Commenting on the competition, the people’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Granovsky noted that a big problem that we face, bringing this sport to children.
On the outcome of the tournament Granovsky wrote on his page in Facebook. He noted that previously, these Championships were not conducted. “Forces in Kharkiv and Kyiv with the help of chess federations held a friendly tournament. The main participants – talented children and adults, has long been held grandmasters. Genuine pleasure of everyone involved (and I in particular) received from participation in tournament of children, many of whom showed amazing results. They say that unplanned Championships of such level has not previously been conducted, so we have something to work on. I know firsthand that everyone who participated, I was really happy,” – says MP.
For the best competed, famous and titled chess players: two-time Olympic Champions Pavel Eljanov and Alexander Moiseenko, the 14th world champion (and the first among the Ukrainian players) Anna Ushenina, one of the Top 100 leading players in the world Eugene doluhanova, world champion in the team competition Vladimir Baklan, silver medalist of the world chess Olympiad 2018 Yulia Osmak and many others.
The MP noted that the main task of this sport is to attract children. “We have already started to go this way and be sure to get a high quality result,” he says.
“Kiev – well done, good, congratulations. Kharkiv is also well done, there is work to do. Know its weaknesses, we hone their skills”, – summed up Alexander Granovsky.
