“Yellow jackets” in Paris: skirmishes near the Champs Elysees and 20 detained
KIEV. March 16. UNN. In the 18th Saturday the mobilization of movement participants “yellow jackets” throughout France continue to meet the demonstrators. At 12:00 in the centre of the capital, Paris, the Champs-elysées, brought together about 800 participants. According to law enforcement, between the “vests” and police are having clashes, reports UNN with reference to BFM TV.
So, according to the Prefecture of police of Paris, law enforcement officers have spent about 20 arrests. In addition, one of the vehicles of the security forces began using water cannon against the demonstrators.
At the same time, it is reported that the action takes place in several parts of the city.
Explosions heard on Avenue de Wagram in the eighth arrondissement of Paris, while law enforcement is trying to keep the yellow jackets from the Champs elysées.
It is also noted that the demonstrators set up barriers that are configured to fight with the police.
As reported UNN, March 10, 17-th national day of protest “yellow jackets”, France was attended by 28 600 people. This is the lowest figure during the demonstrations on November 17 last year, the interior Ministry said.
