As reported on the website of the local police, the gunman was 22 years old, he is from the city of Martin to the North. About his motives are not reported.

According to the Slovak newspaper “Novy Chas”, which is quoted by TASS, the attack killed the Deputy Director of the school. The assailant wielded a knife and inflicted a severe wound to the Director of the institution. In addition, injured two children, there are also injured among teachers. The mayor Branislav Zacharides expressed “deep sorrow” at the incident and condolences for the family of the deceased.
