Ukrainian tennis player, former first racket of Belarus Alexander Dolgopolov in his Facebook expressed their opinion on the fact that the winner of the National selection for Eurovision-2019 MARUV not going to contest in tel Aviv due to the failure to meet all requirements of the National public broadcasting company of Ukraine:
“I am ashamed of our country today. A visual aid of how and why from here leave individuals who can achieve success on the world stage, in any professions (hopefully, this time Ukraine will not lose another person). One of the few artists from Ukraine who makes modern music that is popular not only in CIS countries. I agree with the condition that the concerts in Russia was worth to cancel and rightly so. The rest looks like a farce. When politicians start dictating to artists how to act when giving interviews etc, it is a problem. Not to mention that all of their money. We have a Europe and a free country?
And also I would like to say Hello to all moralists and pundits who talk about decency, outrageous, etc. first, review the behavior of stars such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and the list goes on. Don’t be antediluvian. First of all, it shows.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the singer MARUV was supposed to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision song contest-2019, which will be held in Israel. Her victory in the national selection provoked a scandal – a number of politicians and community activists have opposed the candidacy of the singer as she toured in Russia.
On Monday, the singer said that in order to participate in Eurovision-2019 it is ready to abandon a planned tour in Russia. Despite this, negotiations between NSTU and singer failed.
