Buses – perhaps one of the most conservative modes of transport. This is due, primarily, with its primary function – the transportation of passengers. However, in this respectable family has its own black sheep.
Company Pulsar Expo (Ukraine) have developed the world’s first bus-SUV Torsus Praetorian. Its Assembly is made in the Czech Republic. The bus is assembled from ready-made components, manufactured in the EU and the United States, and the majority of them – chassis, engine, gearbox and brakes – the German company MAN.
Torsus Praetorian is equipped with 6.9-liter engine producing 239 HP with a torque of 924 N·m. transmission is a 12-speed semi-automatic transmission TipMatic, developed jointly by the companies MAN and ZF. Transfer box – with dual range and locking front differential.
The bus is also used heavy-duty chassis MAN TGM with a parabolic axis and a leaf spring, “shod” in the tires Michelin R20. Suspension is controlled through the steering ZF, which is available in both “left” and “right” versions. The weight of the bus 13 500 kg, with restrictions on front and rear axle equal to 6 290 kg and 7790 kg, respectively, a maximum speed of 117 km/h tank volume – 100 l.
Exterior panels are made of durable fiberglass. The strength of the bus-SUV further raise the bar in the front and rear of the body, and also a protective mesh on all Windows.
Torsus Praetorian is designed to transport personnel of the enterprises of heavy engineering, mining, forestry and oil and gas industry. They can also be claimed by tourism companies to travel to remote places. The price of the bus starts with $ 150,000.
