Ukraine increased 22% food exports
Uncategorized December 29, 2017KIEV. 29 Dec. UNN. The export of food products of Ukrainian manufacturers for 10 months of 2017 increased by 22% compared to the corresponding period last year, reports UNN with reference to the export support Centre at UMB.
“Export of finished food products of Ukrainian producers in January — October of current year has grown on 22% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2016 to nearly 2.3 billion dollars”, — stated in the message.
The main export items are:
- residues and waste from the food industry (848 million dollars);
- sugar and sugar confectionery (345 million dollars);
- tobacco and its industrial substitutes (284 million dollars);
- finished products of grain (249 million dollars);
- alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and vinegar (169 million dollars).
The highest growth rate for the first 10 months of the current year showed:
- sugar and confectionery (64%);
- finished products of grain (49%);
- alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and vinegar (31%).
It is noted that moderate, but positive trend was the increase in exports of meat products and fish by 10%, though in monetary terms, total exports for this position is still fairly small around $ 12 million.
The Center’s experts noted, that positive dynamics of growth of exports suggests that exports of finished products by the end of 2017 will be 2.4 − 2.6 billion dollars.
The key products of domestic exports of finished products are:
- bagasse (33% of total exports);
- sugar and products from it (10%);
- cigarettes (10%);
- alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (8%);
- products of processing of vegetables (6%);
- chocolate (5%).
The export of Ukrainian goods within 10 months was carried out in 174 countries around the world.
According to the Center for the greatest demand of foreign retailers consistently use tomato paste and ketchup, juices, bottled oil, sugar, honey and confectionery.
Recall that the Ukrainian producers have increased export volumes of beer and wine.
