KIEV. May 3. UNN. Footballer of the national team of Ukraine Junior Moraes after he learned of the decision the control and disciplinary body, UEFA, sent a letter to the FFU. This was reported by the press service of the Federation, reports UNN.
In his message, Moraes expresses gratitude to the leadership of the football Federation of Ukraine, coaching staff and all the fans that supported him for the consideration of protests of the football Federation of Portugal and Luxembourg regarding his participation in the matches of the 22nd and 25th March for Ukraine.
“Dear fans of the national team of Ukraine! Today from the headquarters of UEFA in Switzerland came joyful for me and for our team news. UEFA has rejected the appeal of football federations of Portugal and Luxembourg. In the last month, I was very worried, but the President of the FFU Andrew Pavelko immediately assured me that FFU had acted legally and we will prove our innocence. Of course, this situation makes me nervous, but the truth is on our side. I love Ukraine, my family loves Ukraine, and I am grateful to Ukraine for everything. Today I want to tell everyone thankyou for your support. It is the victory of our team, and its fans! From my side I can say that every game will make every effort to ensure that our team successfully participated in the qualifying round of the European championship in 2020,” – said in his letter Junior Moraes.
Recall, UEFA has reached a verdict in the “case of Moraes”, rejecting the protests of the national teams of Portugal and Luxembourg regarding the national team of Ukraine. Thus, the team of Andrey Shevchenko will not be deprived of tournament points and remains the leader of its group in qualifying for UEFA Euro 2020.
“This is a victory Moraes and the Ukrainian football! We will always be to defend the national team and its players – the true patriots of Ukraine, and UEFA and FIFA. And the Junior already proved that he is a patriot. Indeed, in a time when many players after the start of the war in the Donbass left Ukraine, Moraes remained faithful to our country by choosing her a new home for his family and making a conscious civic choice in favor of our country,” – said on this occasion, the President of the FFU Andrew Pavelko.
