Two border guards in Odessa region condemned for corruption on the border

ODESSA-KIEV. 14 Feb. UNN. Solution Velikomikhaylovsky regional court of the Odessa region, two border guards were sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 2 years for the promotion of smuggling activities. In the process of operational work carried out by a separate Department of internal security of the southern regional government of state frontier service together with representatives of the SBU and the military Prosecutor of the Odessa garrison, detained “on hot” two soldiers of one of the departments Podilskyi border guard detachment.

In collusion with smugglers, the border guards promised them for $ 900. allow the free passage of alcohol from Moldova to Ukraine, outside of the checkpoints. The decision of the district court Velikomikhaylovsky both guards were found guilty of committing a crime under part 1 of article 368 of the criminal code and sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of 2 years.

Besides, both are deprived the right to occupy relevant positions in bodies of the State border service of Ukraine for the period of 3 years.
