Twitter banned the Russian media to place advertising on the social network

KIEV. 26 Oct. UNN. Social network Twitter has banned two Russian media – RT (Russia Today) and Sputnik, to publish in their accounts any advertisements, reports UNN with reference to CNBC.

“In the beginning of this year, the intelligence service of the United States called RT and Sputnik part sponsored by the Russian efforts to intervene and disrupt the presidential elections in 2016, what we don’t want Twitter”, – such statement was made by the social network in his blog on Thursday.

Twitter also announced that the company will provide $ 1.9 million of income derived from advertising, to “support for external research use of Twitter for impact on citizens and elections, including the use of malicious automation and misinformation…”.
