Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged citizens to refuse from plastic bags and start using them instead of bags woven from hemp fibres, according to Anadolu.
“Plastic bags cannot decompose in the ground for 500, 750 and 1000 years. We strongly declare war on them”, – said the head of state, whose wife Emine Erdogan just manages environmental project “Zero waste” reducing waste production and their recycling.
