The U.S. state Department plans to address the social problems of Ukrainian society through the development of “serious games.” The us Embassy in Kiev announced a competition among organizations. With the corresponding document reviewed RT.

“The main strategic objectives are: strengthening of business relations between the United States and Ukraine by providing a transparent platform for cooperation, create a better business environment and solution of social problems of Ukraine through the development of “serious games”, — the document says.
In the framework of the project it is planned to recruit approximately 50 professional and novice developers from Ukraine and to organize a training workshop for them on social issues, during which the participants will start working on “serious games”. Mentors are the experts from Ukraine and the United States, including representatives of American manufacturers of video games.
The U.S. state Department intend to hold a seminar in the first week of September, before the festival Comic Con Ukraine. In addition, on the eve of the festival is to be held “game jam -” a competition of software developers speed the creation of new games. It is expected that participants will be able to present their ideas to potential investors during Comic Con Ukraine.
For the entire project, the state Department will allocate up to $100 million the Ministry hopes that this project will facilitate the entry of American companies in the gaming industry of Ukraine and create a platform for cooperation between developers from the United States and their Ukrainian counterparts.
“The plans outlined in the programme should take account of the possibility of cooperation with the trade service of the United States to represent American companies — game developers on the Ukrainian market and develop relations with their Ukrainian colleagues”, — reported in the state Department.
In February, Washington announced plans to implement in Ukraine a program that will allow you to “expand what is happening inside the Ukrainian audience dialogue” on political and social issues of importance in the context of the “Euro-Atlantic vector of development” of the state.
