U.S. Secretary of state Michael Pompeo hopes that intra-Afghan talks will begin in the coming days, reports TASS. “We hope that in the next few days will start the intra-Afghan negotiations, which was previously never had,” said the head of American diplomacy in an interview with CBS.
According to him, active participation in the further settlement process in Afghanistan will make the US President Donald trump. Pompeo, however, did not give details regarding a possible personal meeting in the White house with the leaders of the Taliban*.
Pompeo also argues that any additional secret agreements with the Taliban, in addition to the main agreement does not exist.
