The Prosecutor’s office of Odessa region reported on the investigation into the events of may 2

ODESSA-KIEV. April 28. UNN. From January 2016 on behalf of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine pre-trial investigation in the United criminal proceedings on the events of may 2 2014 conducted by the investigating Directorate of the National police in the Odessa region under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor’s office of Odessa region. Since that time, thanks to the joint measures, namely daily work of the joint group of investigators of the police and the prosecutors established and it is reported about suspicion six persons involved in tragic events. So, in September 2016, the Prosecutor’s office together with the police reported about suspicion to two persons in the organization of mass riots in Odessa on 2 may 2014 and capture the House of trade unions. In one of them the decision on closing of criminal proceedings in connection with the death during the may events.

“With regards to another person by the Prosecutor’s office jointly with the SBU Management in the field yet prepared a petition to the court on the implementation of the special pre-trial investigation. Specified person, according to the investigation, is the so-called “DNR” and also suspected of involvement in terrorist organizations, intentional actions directed on infringement of territorial integrity of Ukraine and other crimes. In addition, another active participant of mass riots, which is reported about suspicion in Commission of a premeditated murder from hooligan promptings, the riots, who is wanted”, — stated in the message.

In March 2017 police have detained a man who took an active part in these events for three years and was wanted. That person was informed about the suspicion under part 2 of article 294 of the criminal code of Ukraine (mass disorders that led to death) and was taken into custody.

The results of pre-trial investigation in April 2017 is made up of suspicion against two citizens under part 2 of article 294 of the criminal code of Ukraine (mass riots) and they wanted.

“During pre-judicial investigation law enforcement authorities wanted 18 suspects in the organization and participation in mass riots, murders and committing other illegal actions”, — said the press service.

In addition, during the investigation appointed and continues 34 the complex is judicial-medical examination on the possible death of the victims in the rooms of the house “Federation of trade unions of Odessa region”, implementation of which is entrusted to experts of the Kiev city clinical Bureau of forensic medical examination.

During a pretrial investigation law enforcement authorities are actively cooperating with international organizations. So repeatedly held joint meetings with representatives of the Advisory mission of the European Union and the UN Monitoring mission on human rights, which discussed the possibility of attraction to carrying out of expert researches of foreign experts. Similar letters have been sent to the Prosecutor’s office to the address of the head office Advisory mission of the European Union and the UN monitoring mission on human rights.

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings proceeds.

Currently, representatives of Prosecutor’s office supported the public prosecution in the specified 26 persons in Malinovsky court of Odessa.
