The body of the ninth victim was discovered at 14:12 on August 17 in the course of investigative actions at the scene of the fire.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in the night from 16 to 17 August in Odessa, the hotel “Tokyo star” was a fire. The fire killed 8 people, injured – 10, saved 7, evacuated – 136. According to gschs, roughly at the hotel was 200 people.
The fact of the fire in hotel “Old Tokyo” initiated criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 270 (violation established by the legislation of fire safety requirements) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman instructed to immediately start checking hotels and resorts because of the fire in Odessa.
In gschs declared that he had planned in July to check out the Odessa, the hotel “Tokyo Star”, but the representative of the SSES were not allowed to check due to the change of the owner of the right of ownership of the hotel.
