The national Council has revoked the license of Radio News in Kharkov
Uncategorized February 24, 2017The national Council on television and radio broadcasting decided not to renew the license for Radio News broadcasting in Kharkov. This was reported on the website of the national Council.
“The national Council meeting on 23 February reviewed the application and did not extend the validity of the license of LLC “Teleradioveschateley company “Master”, Kharkov – the-air local broadcasting using a frequency of 100.5 MHz, the volume of broadcasting – 24 hours a day, call signs and Radio”, – stated in the message.
The basis for such decision in the company were previously applied sanctions and insufficient number of programmes in the Ukrainian language in the broadcast (according to the law on quotas should not be less than 50%).
“In connection with a violation of part 7 of article 27, part 8, article 28 law of Ukraine on television and radio broadcasting, the licensee was given a warning by the decision of the regulatory authority from July 17, 2014 No. 265. Also, due to violations of the requirements of part 5 of article 9 of the act to the broadcaster, the decision from 09 February 2017 No. 99 is applied a sanction of “fine” in the amount of 5% of the amount of the license fee. At the time of considering the renewal of the broadcasting licence these decisions are challenged, but not cancelled in a judicial order and, therefore, are active,” – said in a statement.
Earlier today media reported that from March 1, from Radio News fired General producer Vitaly Dokalenko, the chief editor of the information service Olga Kurishko and program Director Irina Zinchenko.
