The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Poland: Donald Tusk’s re-election will not change anything in the European policy of the country

The election of Donald Tusk to head the European Council – it is a losing battle, which, however, in the European policy of the country changes nothing. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski, reports UNN with reference to Polish radio.
On the question of whether the re-election of Donald Tusk to the post of head of the European Council a step backwards Polish diplomacy, the head of the Polish foreign Ministry answered: “it is Obvious that it is a losing battle, which, however, in our European politics changes nothing. Donald Tusk did not help us during the last two and a half years, what we’re talking about.”
“And the fact that he retained his position, means that in the future from his side we do not get help. It doesn’t change anything,” – said the Polish Minister.
At the same time, the head of the Polish foreign Ministry noted that now seen in which direction is Europe.
“We know that it is now a European Union that listens to Berlin. He did not hesitate and does not use any diplomatic receptions, but only firmly striving to implement their goals. And it is necessary to think” – he added.
In turn, the press Secretary of the ruling Polish party “law and justice” Beata Mazurek stated that the re-election of Donald Tusk President of the European Council “Europe does not promise anything good”.
“Our assessment is that this solution does not promise anything good to Europe, it is bad for Europe. For the first time in history, when the leaders of EU member States supported the person contrary to the government of the country which citizen is this person,” she said.
While Beata Mazurek supported the Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, who “valiantly defended the position of the Polish government”.
