The meeting in the case of the dismantling of the monument to Catherine II in Odessa postponed to February 2

ODESSA-KIEV. 27 Dec. UNN. The court of appeal of Odessa was moved to February 2, the proceedings on the legality of the installation at Catherine square the monument to the founders of Odessa. This is the correspondent of UNN.

The court of appeal hearing was moved to February 2 to review the additions made in the case, and the litigants should prepare for the debate.

In the Appellate administrative court of Odessa city Council needs to recognize the transfer of the monument to Catherine II in the area of legal and the opponents of the mayor’s office, the organization “Sich”, demands to return to Ekaterininskaya square, the monument to Potemkin.

Recall that in 2007, the Odessa city Council decided to move the monument “Potemkin – child” with Catherine square on the street of Primorsko, and in its place install a pedestal “to the Founders of Odessa,” among them the monument to Catherine II, who until 1920 was on the same square. However, the initiative of the municipality was not supported by the “Association of Cossack societies “Sich”, whose members filed a lawsuit and won it.
