The mayor of Odessa has suspended the abolition of the city Council of de-communization of the streets

The mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov has suspended the scandalous decision of city Council about renaming of the previously decompensirovanny streets, alleys and avenues of the regional centre, parts of which were going to bring back the old names. The corresponding order the mayor signed today, April 29, reports the press service of the city Council.

The local authority noted that the issue would be submitted for reconsideration by the Council “after the procedure of public discussion of the relevant draft decision”.

April 27, Odessa oblast Prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings on the facts of the decision of the city Council. On 28 April the decision was overturned by the court.
