The lawyers of Yanukovych departed on business trip: court again postponed

The lawyers of Viktor Yanukovych allegedly went to foreign “business trip”, despite the fact that today is another court hearing on a possible treason fugitive ex-dictator. About this in his Facebook reported the press Secretary of the Prosecutor General Larisa Sargan.

“Today at 10:00 in the Obolon district court of Kyiv had to go on trial… But. The lawyers of Yanukovych departed on business trips: one in Turkey, another in Poland,” she writes.

The Prosecutor in this case Ruslan Kravchenko considers such reasons is disrespectful, said the Gar. “He is confident that such actions protect the former President aimed at disrupting court hearings”, she added.

The lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk broadcast channel 112 Ukraine said they “were working with witnesses abroad.”

Given the situation, the court decided on a week – long break until the morning of January 17.

28 November 2016, the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko announced the notification of suspected Yanukovych of treason. The court allowed to detain the ex-dictator, and also gave permission for the correspondence investigation.

In March 2017 the office of the Prosecutor transferred to the court indictment: Yanukovych is suspected of committing crimes under part 1 of article 111 (high treason), paragraph 5 of article 27, part 3 of article 110 (intentional complicity in acts committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory and the state border) and part 5 article 27, part 2 of article 437 (aiding in waging aggressive war) of the criminal code.
