The Kharkov customs officers will be tried over 300 thousand bribe

KIEV. April 3. UNN. The case of the Kharkiv customs officer-the bribe taker, who “earned” more than 300 thousand UAH will be considered by the court. About it UNN reported in the press service of the Prosecutor of Kharkiv region.

The Prosecutor noted that now held a preparatory hearing at which the case is scheduled for trial. In addition, the court extended to the malefactor the measure of restraint in form of detention and suspension for another 60 days.

We will remind, in September 2016, the state Comptroller of one of customs posts of Kharkiv customs of the SFSU demanded and received from the heads of the two companies almost 290 thousand UAH. This is the amount he appreciated his services for the smooth customs clearance of goods. In the case of non-payment of undue advantage inspector promised to conduct additional monitoring of transport that crossed the border of Ukraine with the Russian Federation, and to bring to administrative responsibility for allegedly revealed violations of customs rules.

The money the officer demanded from individuals and customs brokers export of various goods into the territory of Ukraine, in particular textiles. “Tribute” is taken for registration and parcels and large cargoes carried by road. The amount depended on the number of the product and its value.

During a pretrial investigation it is established a few episodes of receiving improper benefits totaling more than 300 thousand UAH.

The maximum sanction of article prescribes 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As reported UNN, the chief of station in Donetsk region will be tried for bribery.
