The GPU refused to explain the million-dollar salary of the former Deputy.

The Prosecutor General’s office refused to comment on the fact that the dismissal of the first Deputy chief military Prosecutor Vladimir Zherbitsky received a salary of 1 million 25 thousand UAH 189. This is stated in the answer of GPU to inquiry of edition Word and Deed.

According to the register of declarations, 18 Oct Zherbitsky filed a statement of material changes in the property status, which indicated to receive wages in the amount of UAH 1025189. The same day he filed a Declaration before the dismissal.

However, the PGO said that to verify the accuracy of this information is the National Agency on corruption prevention.

“Explain that, under current law, validation of completed declarations and reports relates to the powers of NACP”, – stated in the letter of the GPU. The question is, at what period Zherbitskim was received this salary, the Department did not respond.

Also the Prosecutor’s office believes that the law on access to public information “does not provide any explanation, inspections and the like.”

According to the draft outline, Zherbitsky also receives a higher pension, in spite of the set in 2015 the maximum size limit of 11 000 UAH.

Earlier, the MP Serhiy Leshchenko saidthat Zherbitsky is supposedly on friendly terms with the ex-Minister of income and fees Alexander Klimenko. Zherbitsky demanded from MP to publicly refute that statement.
