The FTA agreement with Canada it should work in summer – MEDT

The agreement on free trade zone between Ukraine and Canada will come into force in the summer of 2017. The time predicted in the Ministry of economic development, said Deputy Minister Nataliya Mykolska in the air hromadske.ua.

Ratified today in the Ukrainian Parliament, the agreement must be signed by the President.

Then the process of ratification should end the Senate of Canada and the agreement will go to the signature of the Governor-General, explained Mykolskiy.

“Since the exchange of the ratification documents a month time the agreement enters into force. That is, we’re in the home stretch,” – said the Deputy Minister.

It is not known when the canadian Parliament ratified the FTA agreement.

7 March, the Upper house of the Federal Parliament of Canada an absolute majority of voters supported the ratification of the agreement in the second reading.

After ratification, Canada will eliminate tariffs on 99.9% of Ukrainian import and the Ukraine immediately cancels 86% duties on imports from Canada.
