“The rhetoric about having to give up Russian RD-180 engines, was traced for a long time. Thus the practice shows, that scream can be anything, but to fly than it is necessary. The Americans tried to create an alternative to our engine, but its technical characteristics is the most powerful version of this engine is two times inferior to the Russian counterpart”, he said.
According to the expert, the Americans decided to abandon the Russian engine is not profitable, if they do not want to close their space program.
“In America, failed to create an alternative. They decided the lesser of two evils, the first of which is due to Russophobia, and, second, the desire to have the engine choose the second”, — said Leonov.
