The EU’s decision to extend sanctions for threatening the sovereignty of Ukraine was officially published
Uncategorized March 14, 2017KIEV. March 14. UNN. The European Union’s decision to extend sanctions for threatening the sovereignty of Ukraine published in the EU Official journal on Tuesday, March 14, reports UNN.
On the eve of the EU Council extended the restrictive measures for actions that harm or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine for another six months, until 15 September 2017. The measures envisage the freezing of assets and ban travel.
The Council of the EU has removed two dead from the list of individuals and entities subject to those restrictive measures that currently apply up to 150 people and 37 organizations.
These restrictive measures were introduced in March 2014 and last extended in September 2016 as the EU measures in force in response to the crisis in Ukraine, including economic sanctions aimed at specific sectors of the Russian economy, which will run until 31 July 2017, the restrictive measures on the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol till 23 Jun 2017.
