The EU agreed on a bezviz to the UK after Brexit

KIEV. April 3. UNN. The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament agreed to grant British citizens the right to visa-free travel to the EU after Brexit. About it UNN reported, citing a statement released on Wednesday statement of the EU Council.

“The EU Council and the European Parliament reached an agreement that, after Brexit, the UK citizens arriving in the Schengen area for a short period of time (90 days within 180 days), should have visa-free travel. This agreement was confirmed yesterday by EU ambassadors on behalf of the EU Council and the European Parliament Committee on civil liberties, justice and home Affairs today. The text must now be formally adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU”, – stated in the EU Council.

According to EU rules, Beavis is subject to condition of reciprocity.

“The government of the United Kingdom stated that it does not intend to impose visas on EU citizens travelling to the UK for a short stay. In the case that the United Kingdom will introduce a visa requirement for nationals of at least one member state in the future will apply the existing mechanism of reciprocity, and the three EU institutions and member States undertake to take immediate measures for the application of this mechanism,” – said the EU Council.

The European Commission will continuously monitor the observance of the principle of reciprocity and to immediately inform the European Parliament and the EU Council of any developments that may threaten the observance of this principle.

We will remind, the British Parliament has again rejected all alternatives agreements with Brexit.

The British people in a referendum in June 2016 gave 51,89% of the votes for the country’s withdrawal from the EU against 48,11% of the votes of the opponents of this.
