The dispersal of the Maidan in Odessa: a case against ex-Deputy head of regional state administration went to court
Uncategorized May 5, 2017Odessa oblast Prosecutor’s office submitted to the court a case against former first Deputy head of the local state administration, Odessa city Council Deputy Alexander Orlov, who is accused of organizing mass riots and beatings of participants of peaceful protest and journalists on 19 February 2014 near the building of RSA. About it reports a press-service of Prosecutor’s office.
“The regional Prosecutor’s office sent the indictment against the former official in the Primorsky district court for consideration in essence”, – stated in the message. Orlov is accused of part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 294, part 2 of article 28, article 340 of the criminal code.
“According to investigators, the suspect in collusion with other persons for the purpose of intimidation and suppression of peaceful protests of Pro-European-minded citizens organized the delivery to the administrative building of the regional administration of about 200 so-called aunts”, – noted in Prosecutor’s office.
The Ministry said that the attackers were wearing protective gear and armed with clubs, batons and metal bars, and faces hidden under hats masks and helmets.

Orlov was reported about suspicion in the organization of dispersal of the Maidan in Odessa in September 2016. Ex-official arrested, but later released on bail.
Also in September last year, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared intention to ask the Verkhovna Rada to abolish the immunity of MP from the Opposition bloc Mykola Skoryk, who is also suspected of involvement in organizing mass disturbances in Odessa in February 2014, when he was Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration.
