The Cup of open hearts: how the business was taught the “solar” children bowling

KIEV. 13 Dec. UNN. In the capital on 9 December this year held a bowling tournament for the “solar” children, reports the correspondent of UNN.

The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds necessary for the Center of development of children with down syndrome.

“Our organization celebrates 14 years, was created by parents who are raising children with down syndrome. The mission of the organization is to improve the lives of children with down syndrome throughout Ukraine. The purpose of the tournament is to unite the efforts of business and the parent organization, to show the potential of children, strengthen their financial contributions companies”, — said the organizer of the tournament, the President of the all-Ukrainian charitable organization “Down Syndrome” Sergey Kuryanov.

According to who data, Ukraine is home to about 15 thousand people with down syndrome, of which about 8 million children.

“Today, our organization consists of 987 participants. The parents and children from different regions of Ukraine. Over the past 5 years parents 17 parent organizations in each region. Parents began to believe in a support network of children with down syndrome,” said the Kuryanov.

The center of development of children with down syndrome works on 4 main areas — “early learning Centre”, model school of the world “Perspective 21-3”, “Ukrainian medical group” and “employment Support for young people with down syndrome”.

“The aim of the project “Support of employment for young people with down syndrome”, which was launched in October, to create a professional team that will provide training and introduction to the workplace, as well as adaptation of the workplace for people with down syndrome worked at a particular organization, office or institution, based on its maximum potential,” explained the Kuryanov.

A child with down syndrome can be born in any family, regardless of social or economic status, environment or heredity. To provide, calculate or prevent, it is impossible. The people these children are called “solar” because they are usually very friendly and open. They need special support. In Ukraine, support of the “solar” children have charities, international donors and socially responsible business.

One of such socially responsible companies in the tournament became the operator of state lotteries “M. S. L.”.

“The purpose of this event is very simple — it’s fun using solar children. This is a traditional Cup. We for the first time this year joined together with the support of the football League and championship paintball, bowling was another opportunity to attract people, employees and children to a single impulse, in which children receive financial assistance, employees are able teambuilding, and “M. S. L. “confirms its status as a socially responsible company, which supports important projects for the society”, — said marketing Director of national lottery operator “M. S. L.” Paul Visera.

Following the event, the organizers managed to collect a record for bowling tournament 250 thousand hryvnias. The funds raised will be used to support the “solar” children.
