The court sent the case Berkut officers, who tortured the participants of the Maidan

In Kiev Pechersk district court directed the indictment against three former employees of a Golden Eagle who is charged with torture of participants of the Maidan. This reports the press service of the Prosecutor General.

Former Berkut officers from the Kharkiv region are accused of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of article 127 (torture) of the criminal code.

In GPU reminded that ex-Berkut officers January 19, 2014 detained on the colonnade of the stadium. Lobanovsky two participants of the Maidan, after which applied to them violent acts on motives of revenge and to intimidate other protesters.

The Ministry said that the sanction of part 2 of article 127 of the criminal code provides no alternative punishment in the form of imprisonment from 5 to 10 years.

Earlier the Prosecutor’s office of Zaporozhye region completed and sent to court criminal proceedings against a member of the police employee who is suspected of illegal detention of protesters on 26 January 2014 at the building of the regional Council.
