The civil war in Colombia: the country’s authorities announced the capture of one of the leaders of the rebel groups
KIEV. July 26. UNN. Representatives of law enforcement agencies of Colombia managed to capture one of the leaders of the former left-wing guerrilla group “the Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia” (FARC). On Saturday the President said the South American country Ivan Duque, informs UNN.
“The police of Colombia reported that in the municipality of Maicao, Department of Guajira (located in the North of the country) was dealt a serious blow to criminal organizations. Was captured by Francisco Durango Usuga, known under the aliases Ariel, or frita,” wrote Duke in his Twitter.
The Colombian President added that in August last year, caught the offender, along with other rebels announced their intention to return to armed struggle.
At the end of August 2019 on YouTube was posted a video performance of one of the leaders of the group Ivan Marquez, during which he announced the intention of the former rebels to return to the armed struggle. The record shows that the leader of FARC is surrounded by a few dozen men and women with guns and in camouflage. Marquez, in his speech said that the video was filmed in the Colombian Amazon.
