Mykola Azarov and Viktor Yanukovych
Obolonskiy district court of Kyiv in the framework of the proceedings for treason Viktor Yanukovych agreed to interview via video link a number of defence witnesses the ex-dictator in particular former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and former Minister of defence Pavel Lebedev. The corresponding decision of the presiding judge Vladislav Devyatko announced at the court session on Wednesday, March 21.
Also, the judge agreed to interview via videoconference ex-commander of Internal troops of the Ministry of internal Affairs Stanislav Shulyak, former head of the security service of Yanukovych Konstantin Kobzar and ex-guard of the President of Sergei Bernatsky.
The court took the lawyers three days for questioning these witnesses, 27, 28 and 29 March 2018.
At the same time, the judge refused the defense in bringing to questioning any authorities of Russia, now where are these witnesses, “because the request for international legal assistance in the criminal proceedings would be contrary to the objectives of the agreements already signed between Ukraine and Russia”.

Today in court during the video conference, was questioned a witness by the defense Oksana Mediyeva that in the winter of 2014 was the participant of the Maidan, and now lives in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the woman, February 20, 2014 the bus with the Crimean anti-Maidan supporters who were returning from Kiev to Simferopol, allegedly was attacked by unknown persons, were killed. However, to call the names of the “victims” of the attack at the request of the Prosecutor Mediyeva are unable.
14 February 2018, the court agreed to questioning 16 of 138 witnesses were asked to call the lawyers of Yanukovych in the case of treason.
