Sytnik: the anti-corruption court be set up before the end of 2017

This was stated by the head of the NABOO Artem Sytnik, speaking at the hearings on the work of anti-corruption agencies in the parliamentary Committee on combating corruption, reports the correspondent of LIGA.net.
“Having the experience of consciousness anti-corruption body from scratch, I can say that, subject to appropriate legislation, this court can be set up before the end of the year,” he said.
Sitnic said that the lack of an anti-corruption court remains a serious problem for the fight against corruption.
He stressed that the new anti-corruption bodies created conditions for the return of looted funds in the budget, but it can be done only subject to the anti-corruption court, or reform of the ordinary courts.
According to him, the courts of first instance judicial reform will come not earlier than in five years under optimistic scenarios.
Committee head Yegor Sobolev said that the draft law on anti-corruption court has already been registered in the Parliament and the Committee will consider it at its meeting next week.
On 1 February it was reportedthat in the Verkhovna Rada the people’s deputies registered a draft law on anti-corruption court.
