Maxim Stepanov, who was dismissed from the post of Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration, said that he did not intend to challenge this decision in court.

As the correspondent of the UNIAN reports, Stepanov said at a briefing in Kyiv.

“I’m not going to challenge this decision in court. The whole country saw why I was fired”, – said Stepanov.

He also added that he is glad that this is what has forced the country’s leadership to comply with the legislation.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 6 April, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree dismissed Stepanova from the post of Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration and appointed its first Deputy Sergey Parashchenko acting Chairman of regional state administration.

However, Stepanov refused to leave the post of Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration, calling illegal the decree of the President about suspension. As stated Stepanov, to dismiss and appoint heads of administrations, the President may solely at the proposal of the Cabinet. While Stepanov confirmed that he was “made an offer” to write the application at own will.

Today, April 10, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decision to dismiss Stepanova.
