Famous Director Steven Spielberg for the lead role in the remake of “West side story” has appointed 17-year-old schoolgirl from new Jersey, Rachel Ziegler.
As reported by Deadline Hollywood, in the film Ziegler will play Mary, the sister of the leader of the Puerto Rican gang the Sharks. The role of her beloved and best friend of the leader of the rival gang “the Rocket” Tony will perform 24-year-old actor Ansel Elgort.
Ziegler picked after an open casting in which participated more than 30 thousand candidates from all over the world. When the girl saw an ad, she recorded a video in which she sang Tonight and Me Siento Hermosa, which was in the original musical of 1957. The post Ziegler became viral and got more than 351 thousand likes on Twitter.
