Snowfall in Britain: blocked airports, complicated traffic
Uncategorized December 11, 2017Heavy snowfall in various parts of the UK have caused disruption to airports, as well as difficulties in road travel. It is reported bi-Bi-si.
It is noted that the greatest difficulties are observed in Wales, where it dropped up to 28 inches of snow and there is a strong wind. In the southern part of Britain is also substantial precipitation.
Due to the snow, drivers are advised to refrain from distant trips. Several routes were cut off by a series of accidents. Also because of the snowfall complicated the movement of trains. National rail warned of possible delays of trains.
At Manchester airport reported flight delays. Birmingham airport has temporarily stopped working due to the fact that the runway was covered with snow. At the airport, Stansted is blocked runway. Luton airport suspended all flights.
In addition, in England and Wales, thousands of homes were left without electricity due to bad weather.
