ODESSA – KIEV. 15 Feb. UNN. Senior soldier of one of military units of the armed forces of Ukraine for Commission of a criminal offense under part 3 of article 408 of the criminal code, sentenced to confinement for a period of 6 months with serving of punishment in the guardhouse. About it the correspondent UNN reported in a press-service of Military Prosecutor’s office of the southern region.
“It is proved that this soldier of military service under contract in March 2017, with the aim to evade the execution of duties of military service did not appear from the medical facility to a military unit and continued to evade until December 2017, spending time at their discretion. In imposing sentence, the court considered all the circumstances of the case, in particular, the identity of the accused, his sincere repentance of the crime, positive characteristics of the place of residence and of service, the maintenance of a minor child and previously received state awards”, – is spoken in the message.

In accordance with the provisions of article 69 of the criminal code of Ukraine, the court appointed the soldier a more lenient penalty not envisaged by the sanction of specified article, the contents of the arrest in the brig, believing that this form of punishment will be sufficient for its correction and prevention of committing new offences.
