According to the portal Tut.by the detentions started after the closing of the CEC. The police began to warn them via loudspeakers that the CEC is open until 19:00 and asked everyone to disperse. Then people began to steal paddy. After the closure of the CEC, the protesters marched towards the main post office to send complaints by mail, but he immediately stopped work. A similar number cited the Ministry of internal Affairs. “Detained more than 250 people, including drivers and cyclists for disobeying a lawful order or request of an official in the performance of official duties, violation of order of organizing or holding mass events, as well as violation of traffic rules. Most of the violations recorded in Minsk”, – said the press-Secretary of police Olga Chemodanova.
The Belarusian Association of journalists also reported the arrest of 10 more members of the media who worked on the shares. The investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case against the alleged organizers and active participants of the July 14 article 342 of the criminal code “on the organization and conduct of group actions, roughly violating public order and interfaced to obvious disobedience to legal requirements of police officers”.
