Researchers at the University of North Carolina has developed a thin elastic material, which can be integrated wearable electronics.
According to scientists, they created the fabric may find practical application in Biomedicine. For the experiment they used a sleeve of a fabric as a controller to play Tetris (video below). The fabric is highly breathable, which allows sweat to evaporate and not cause skin irritation during prolonged use.
The basis of the material – elastic polymer film. It is impregnated with a solution containing silver nanowires. In the process of manufacture it is subjected to heat pressing to seal wires and create porous electrodes.
Directly in Biomedicine breathable electrodag can be used for the needs of electrocardiography and electromyography.
