Russian students won five gold medals at the 48th International physics Olympiad (IPhO-2017), which was held recently in Indonesia, reports the website of the Ministry of education of the Russian Federation.
The highest awards were received by each of the members of the Russian team Vasily Yugov (Perm region), the Crimean Stanislav (St. Petersburg), Dmitri Plotnikov (Moscow), Sergey Vlasenko (Voronezh region) and Kirill Parshukov (Komi Republic).
Leaders of a national team of Russian students at the International physics Olympiad were: A. A. Voronov, the head of the team, Vice-rector for educational Affairs and pre-University training of MIPT; Osin M. N., associate Professor of General physics, Moscow; Vladimir A. Shevchenko, Laboratory work with gifted children MIPT.
International physics Olympiad was held from 16 to 23 July. The event was attended by 424 students from 88 countries. Teams of pupils performed the tasks of theoretical and experimental rounds. Last year the result of the Russian team was one gold medal less.
Russian students became winners of the International mathematical Olympiad, which ended in Rio de Janeiro. One of the members of the national team of the Russian Federation – Mikhail Ivanov won the gold medal. Three student – Kirill tyschuk, George boar and Nikita Dobronravov – earned silver awards, and Timofei Zaitsev and Vadim Retinsky – bronze, reported on the website of the event.
In team classification the winner was South Korea, second place went to China, and the third Vietnam. Russia in the team scoring in 11th place out of 110.
International Olympiad among high school students pass and in other disciplines. Recently, in Thailand ended the 49-th international chemistry Olympiad absolute winner , which was won by Muscovite Alexander Zhigalin. In General, the Russian students team of four won two gold and two silver medals.
In addition Jigulina gold went to Ruslan Kotlyarova from Kazan. Two silver awards were won by Ekaterina Zhigaleva (Tyumen) and Kirill Kozlov (Moscow).
