The Russian authorities refused to transfer to Ukraine of the political prisoner Valentina Vygovsky, who is serving time on charges of espionage. This was reported in Facebook’s lawyer Ilya Novikov.

“In November, Valentin vygovskyy got the message that Russia refuses to give Ukraine according to the procedure of “direction to serve sentences at Home” in Chapter 55 of the code of criminal procedure,” wrote the lawyer.

He noted that Vyhovsky was the first Ukrainian on which began the transfer process.

“There was a theory that perhaps it will be a working version of exchange that doesn’t require signing Putin pardons. Because Putin clearly did not like them to sign, especially then respond to questions about it. Worth a try, at least to make sure that doesn’t work. Convinced. This option is closed”, – said the lawyer.

We will remind, in February 2017 Darnytsia court of Kyiv declared the sentence of the convicted for espionage in Russia Ukrainian Valentin vygovskyy and began the process of its transfer to Ukraine in the framework of the Convention on the transfer of sentenced persons.

Moscow regional court on 15 December 2015, sentenced a citizen of Ukraine Valentin vygovskyy to 11 years of imprisonment for economic and military espionage in the aerospace industry.

Earlier, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine in August has made Vygovsky in the list of political prisoners convicted or under investigation in Russia.
