Restaurant in Washington will plead with D. trump

KIEV. March 10. UNN. Owners of the wine bar and restaurant in Washington filed a lawsuit against the President of the United States Donald trump, accusing him of unfair competition, reports UNN with reference to BBC.

The restaurant is located in the same block, where the Trump International hotel, which belongs to the head of state. The owners Khalid Pitts and Diane gross argue that the restaurant, whose name is the name of the President, selects their clients because it has become a favorite meeting place for diplomats and business lobbyists who come to Washington.

“Really, why can’t they go to the place that seems to be the closest to the President of the United States?”, – asks the plaintiff H. Pitts.

The lawsuit was filed against the company, Trump Old Post Office LLC, which manages the hotel, and against D. trump personally. The plaintiffs do not require compensation, however, in their opinion, for the period of presidency of D. trump should close down the hotel, sell it, or to leave the presidency.

H. Pitts, a lawyer associated with the Democratic party of the United States. In 2014, he participated in local elections. His wife worked with Senator Barbara Mikulski. However, H. Pitts maintains that his political views in this case do not matter. According to him, after the presidential election the number of customers the restaurant has been steadily declining.

The D. trump lawyer Alan Garten called the lawsuit a “PR stunt”.

In the US there is no law that obliges the President to get rid of business assets while working in the White house. However, at his first press conference D. trump said that retires and passes the company management to his sons.
