Putin had the idea to create in the Crimea “Russian Mecca”

The President of the aggressor country of Russia Vladimir Putin suggested to create in the temporarily occupied Chersonese “the Russian Mecca”. It is reported by the Russian Interfax.

“Here you need to create a Russian, the Russian Mecca. It is not the fact that Prince Vladimir was baptized, and that afterwards there began the strengthening of the centralized Russian state”, – Putin said at a meeting with scientists at the Museum-reserve Chersonese.

He added that alleged on the basis of a single market, a common language, a common faith and the power of the Prince was created a “unified Russian national state, and, in fact, the Russian nation”.

Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014 year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions and called the annexation and occupation of Crimea illegal. Against Russia were imposed economic sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016-m to year the Parliament of Ukraine recognized the Russian state Duma is illegitimate.
