The Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on information policy Alexei Pushkov commented on the statement of the President of France Emmanuel Makron that anti-Russian sanctions have not brought neither Europe nor Russia nothing positive.

As he wrote in his Twitter, the EU fell into his own trap.
“Macron admitted that sanctions have cost the EU so much as Russia, but did not give a “positive result.” Update: politically, the result is zero. To insist on this course, makes no sense, and how to break the deadlock, the EU does not know. The case when the catcher caught in their own trap,” — said Pushkov.
Previously, macron said that anti-Russian sanctions have not brought neither Europe nor Russia nothing positive, and stressed the need for dialogue to resolve frozen conflicts.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz, evaluating the statement noted that the Polish side does not share this position: sanctions should be maintained, and Europe and the EU “have to unite here with other countries, primarily the United States,” because Moscow is a “very serious threat”.
