In Spain, law enforcement officers arrested the owner of football club “Marbella”, Russian businessman Alexander Grinberg on suspicion of money-laundering “Russian mafia”, in particular Moscow crime “Solntsevo”, and creating a criminal community, writes EFE.
According to the Agency, in the framework of the criminal case was arrested 11 persons, including one of the gang leaders of the Solntsevskaya Arnold Tamm (Arnold Spivakovsky, ex-CEO of the hotel complex “Cosmos”, the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hotel Association “Intourist”).
All of them, according to investigators involved in laundering over € 30 million. In a law enforcement operation was attended by about 50 Spanish guards, who carried out searches in homes and offices, says DW.
According to local media reports, the guards early in the morning for five hours conducted searches in several offices in the cities of Mijas, Estepona, Puerto Banus and Marbella and the office of the football club Greenberg, who is in the third force of Spanish football division.
Greenberg is one of the most famous Russian entrepreneurs at the prestigious Spanish resort of Marbella, where he lives since 2008. There he owns the firm Terminal Group, which operates in the construction industry, restaurant business and entertainment.
Greenberg also owns one of the most expensive restaurants of Marbella Finca Besaya, the Golf club Dama de Noche and other objects. Spanish media have repeatedly reported about the noisy night parties that Greenberg arranged during the holidays, inviting artists from Russia.
