On Mars conditions for the origin of life – scientists
On the planet found the remains of hydrothermal vents
An international group of researchers published the results of the analysis of the data sent by the Orbiter NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) images of large volumes of sedimentary rocks in the South of Mars. The data indicate that the sediment particles that formed the topography of this part of the world, was formed by streams of hot water raised from the bottom of the springs in volcanically active parts of Mars. This writes Popular mechanics.
According to one theory of the origin of life on Earth, the first components necessary for the emergence of living cells, were synthesized near black smokers – hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor. MRO images are proof that around the same time as on Earth, on Mars could exist conditions similar to those that led to the emergence of life on our planet.
In our days on Mars, no water and no volcanic activity. Hydrothermal vents were blocked there, according to scientists ‘ estimates, 3.7 billion years ago.
