Near Odessa, the military ship with firing detained a ship of smugglers

KIEV. 2 Jan. UNN. The naval forces of Ukraine jointly with the Military counterintelligence of SBU, and State border service on new year’s eve, December 31, detained a vessel under the flag of Tanzania, which was suspected of transporting illegal cargo. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry in Facebook, reports UNN.

“In the last hours of 2017 in the territorial waters of Ukraine was discovered the ship under the flag of Tanzania who is reasonably suspected of transporting illegal cargo”, – stated in the message.

The interception came missile boat “Pryluky”, which tried to make radio contact with the captain of the ship and demanded to stop.

There was no answer, and moreover, the ship tried to escape, so Priluki fired warning shots.

“The intruder was detected by technical means of observation on the beam n Resort within the territorial waters of Ukraine, the call is not answered, so the missile boat “Pryluky” began his persecution. Seeing the futility of attempted escape from Ukrainian military boats, the ship made contact and was interviewed in accordance with the procedures of international law of the sea. However, the intruder demands to stop are not fulfilled. With the aim of forcing it to cease and desist rocket boat “Priluki” opened precautionary fire from artillery in the course of the vessel, which was stopped and escorted to the port of Odessa”, – said the naval forces of Ukraine.

Now on the detained vessel is checked by the competent authorities.
