NASA has announced the 2020-ies of the two new interplanetary mission
Uncategorized December 21, 2017National aerospace Agency of the USA (NASA) announced two major interplanetary missions, the launch of which is scheduled for mid 2020-ies. Two finalists were selected in the contest, which was attended by 12 of the submitted ideas, according to the Agency blog on Tumblr.
One of these missions – sending probe CAESAR (Astrobiology Comet Sample Exploration Return mission) at the infamous comet Churyumov – Gerasimenko, earlier studied by the spacecraft of the European space Agency Rosetta. The unit will take samples to study the origin and history of this body, noted in NASA.

The second mission would be to drone the Dragonfly, which is sent to Titan, a moon of Saturn, to study the chemistry of prebiotics, and study the object’s surface for signs of habitability. To this end, the drone will fly to a few places, overcoming hundreds of kilometers.

It is noted that the mission CAESAR and Dragonfly will receive funding until the end of 2018.

NASA also selected two space projects that will be funded for their further technological developments. It’s a mission on Saturn’s moon Enceladus (ELSAH) and VICI to study Venus.
