NABU vs NACP: Sytnik wrote a sharp letter to Korczak

Documents requested by the national Agency for prevention of corruption at the head of the anti-corruption Bureau of Artem Sytnik, passed a week ago, but some media reported that NACP supposedly made him the administrative Protocol regarding “compliance with the legal requirements of the NACP” are fictitious. This is stated in an open letter to rush to the head of the Agency Natalia Korchak.

“A number of media spread information about the alleged compiling of administrative Protocol on violation of the act, the Director of NABU. In particular, we are talking about the participation of the staff of the Bureau for admindemo under the claim of Legal company Studio rights to the SFS, in which the court is involved as a third party on the part of the Respondent Director of the Bureau,” – said in a statement.

According to Sytnik, 3 November, the NEB responded to the request NACP and sent the Agency copies of all requested documents.

In addition, the NEB explained the lack of conflict of interest described in NACP case.

According to the Director of the Bureau, in the framework of pre-judicial investigation by detectives of the production of October 5, the head of the NACP Korczak (on behalf of which the unit received requests for documents) 30 Oct called in for questioning in the NAB as a witness. Questioning she ignored.

“We stress that in such circumstances the Chairman of the NACP is not entitled to consider any questions of activity of the Bureau and its employees, and is obliged to take measures to resolve real conflict of interests (article 28 of the law on prevention of corruption),” – said Sytnik, questioning the “objectivity execution of duties of the Chairman of the Agency.”

In addition, said Sytnik, such actions Korczak “can discredit authority, whose main task is to ensure the formation and implementation of state anticorruption policy”.

The Director of the Bureau urged her “to fulfill its procedural obligations, to appear when summoned by detectives to NAB to testify instead of using his post to avoid providing explanations”.

“Also caution the head of the NACP to refrain from such further actions, as such, which may indicate the presence of a conflict of interests,” the statement says.
